Anthony Forde becomes Rotherham’s first summer signing

Rotherham have completed the signing of Walsall winger Anthony Forde on a three-year deal.

The 22-year-old agreed terms and passed a medical at the Millers earlier in the week, but the move is now completed after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed compensation fee.

Forde, who played 46 times for the Saddlers last season, was offered a two-year deal at the Banks’s Stadium but he turned his back on them in search of Championship football and will stay in South Yorkshire until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

He becomes new boss Alan Stubbs’ first signing and joins his new team-mates for the first day of pre-season training.
