Attempt to buy Kieffer Moore will be only January spending, says Rotherham boss Paul Warne

Rotherham’s attempt to bring Kieffer Moore to the club on a permanent basis is the only cash boss Paul Warne is planning the splash in January.

With Moore returning to parent club Ipswich in early 2018, the Millers will try and prize him back to South Yorkshire if he does not impress Mick McCarthy.

Warne is looking at two other strikers and two defenders to bolster ihs faltering squad when the transfer window opens, but will focusing on the loan market.

“There are more likely to be loan arrivals than permanent ones in January,” Warne said.

“There isn’t a striker I have highlighted who we are looking to purchase, other than, obviously, Kieffer.

“At the moment, the two I have really earmarked are both loans. But I’m still trying to buy Kieffer, if that’s an option.

“At the moment, we don’t know if that’s an option until Mick’s had a look at him. And you can’t rattle Mick.”
