You would have thought that after playing together for two seasons at Blackpool and both deciding to leave, Clark Robertson and Kyle Vassell might have spoken to each other about their future plans.
Robertson, a defender, and striker Vassell, rejected new terms at Bloomfield Road in search of football at a higher level.
And they have both found it at Rotherham, after penning three-year deals.
With a move to the same club on horizon, surely the two players would have discussed things, compared notes and even had their decision to join influenced by the other’s potential arrival?
Well, not Vassell and Robertson.
Robertson’s move to the AESSEAL New York Stadium had been well documented, but Vassell’s had been largely kept under wraps.
And Vassell had been tight-lipped too as the Robertson only found out that Vassell would be joining him in South Yorkshire when they bumped into each other at a local hotel.
“I saw him at the hotel before we came down here and he was buzzing because I’d kept it quiet, so maybe I was a bit horrible to him!” Vassell said.
“We’ve been good pals at Blackpool for the last few years as well and he’s another great lad, so the fact that the gaffer is signing other players like that I know what he wants and it’s going to be a great changing room.”
