Paul Warne raises hope of Tom Adeyemi stay but concedes ‘money talks’

Rotherham boss Paul Warne has raised hopes of signing on-loan midfielder Tom Adeyemi permanently but concedes that ultimately ‘money talks’.

Adeyemi, on a season-long loan from Cardiff, has been one of the standout players for the Millers and Warne previously said he expects the 25-year-old to find another Championship club next year.

But the Millers boss has not given up hope of snaring Adeyemi permanently, though fears money could be an issue.

“It would be nice if I could keep Tom. I’m a realist. I know the situation he’s in,” said Warne.

“But I think we would have a good chance to keep him. He wants to play here because he likes it here and he’s doing well here.

“But we all know football. Money will talk.”
