Paul Warne will look to cull a further three players from his squad before the start of the season, with right-back Darnell Fisher expected to be one of them.
The Millers boss has already shed 10 players from the group that became the worst side in Championship history last season, with the notable departures of Kirk Broadfoot and Dexter Blackstock.
And following the signing of Josh Emmanuel from Ipswich, Fisher’s name looks like being added to the list, with a move to Preston expected to go through shortly.
Fellow defender Aimen Belaid could also to be allowed to leave, with potential moves to France and Luton so far falling through.
Despite the season being just over a week away, Warne is happy to keep the door revolving at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
“I will probably have two more out, maybe three, and I might get one or two in,” Warne said.
“Luton quite fancied Belaid. I don’t know if it went as far as them talking to him. I’m mates with the Luton manager and I didn’t talk to him.
“I have got until the end of August to get ‘ins’. But I am in no rush to get one or two in. I have to make sure they improve the team.
“We have 15 games in the first two months or something. It is absolute carnage. “Everyone is going to play a part, but I presume another couple will probably go with my blessing.”
Fisher joined the Millers last August for a fee from Celtic and played 35 times.
