Rotherham 0 Aston Villa 2: Rate the players

Rotherham suffered another defeat as Aston Villa won 2-0 at New York Stadium.

A Will Vaulks own goal and Jonathan Kodjia’s strike in the second half gave Villa a first away win of 2017 and condemned the Millers to a 26th defeat of the season.

Here’s how the players rated, with the chance to add your own in.

Lewis Price 8 – Kept Rotherham in it in the first half with some impressive saves.

Stephen Kelly 6 – His afternoon ended early due to an injury.

Semi Ajayi 7 – Building on his impressive start, Ajayi enjoyed a solid afternoon.

Aimen Belaid 6 – Produced both good and bad, but his acrobatic clearance in the first half was superb.

Ben Purrington 5 – A below-par outing for the left-back, who struggled in defence and attack.

Anthony Forde 6 – Recalled after impressing last week and he was Rotherham’s most likeliest.

Will Vaulks 7 – Moved to right-back after Kelly’s injury and did a job for the team.

Tom Adeyemi 6 – Was not at his marauding best against man-mountain Mile Jedinak.

Jon Taylor 6 – Produced some eye-catching runs down the left but the end product was lacking.

Jerry Yates 5 – Was a willing runner but lacked the quality to make an impact.

Danny Ward 6 – A frustrating afternoon ended at half-time for the striker whose drought goes on.

Richie Smallwood 7 – Did what he does so well after coming on to replace Kelly.

Joe Newell 5 – Came on to improve creativity but could not manage it.
