Rotherham 0 Sheffield Wednesday 2: Rate the players

Rotherham suffered a club-record ninth successive defeat as they were beaten by an average Sheffield Wednesday side.

Two first-half goals from Steven Fletcher punished the Millers for not taking their chances and there was no way back after that.

Here’s how the players rated with the chance to add your own.

Lewis Price 4 – Looked to be beaten easily at the near post for the opening goal and had several other nervy moments, including some terrible kicking.

Darnell Fisher 4 – A few moments of promise in attack, but his defensive nous, failing to even challenge Fletcher for the second goal, continues to undermine him.

Semi Ajayi 7 – Again a solid display from the centre-half, showing pace and strength when he needs to.

Richard Wood 6 – Back in the side after an injury, Wood did not let anyone down and might even have had a penalty.

Joe Mattock 6 – Also solid on his return and was an upgrade on Fisher and Ben Purrington.

Jon Taylor 6– The textbook Taylor performance. Looked dangerous until his last touch. Should have given his side the lead.

Will Vaulks 6 – Back in his midfield role, he ran around and tried hard but did not impact the game too much.

Richie Smallwood 7 – Showed what he can offer with his battling qualities in the middle of the park.

Joe Newell 6 – Looked decent in the first half, Rotherham’s biggest threat, but faded after the break.

Carlton Morris 6 – Showed some good touches in the first half, but should have scored at a vital time.

Danny Ward 5 – Is he going to turn up again this season? Another ineffectual performance.

Jonson Clarke-Harris 5 – Difficult to judge his first appearance of the season.

Anthony Forde 5 – Didn’t do much when he came on.

Alex Bray N/A – Token sub appearance.
