Rotherham had their hearts broken on Valentine’s Day as Huddersfield snatched a last-gasp win at New York Stadium.
Here’s how the players rated.
Richard O’Donnell 7 – Was kept busy throughout, with plenty of routine saves and he did well.
Stephen Kelly 6 – Played his part in defence against two tricky opponents and improved going forward.
Semi Ojayi 7 – His best game since arriving on loan as he made some crucial interventions and scored the opener.
Richard Wood 7 – Marshalled the defence well on a busy evening, won his headers and made blocks. Missed chances at the other end.
Ben Purrington 7 – Beginning to look the part at left-back, can see why the Millers invested in him.
Jon Taylor 6 – He tried and was a willing runner. Offers more than Anthony Forde but still lacks an end product.
Will Vaulks 6 – Brought in to replace Richie Smallwood but struggled to put his stamp on the game.
Tom Adeyemi 8 – Another masterful performance by the midfielder, who battled fatigue to score a fine goal.
Joe Newell 6 – Industrious, but did not have it all his own way.
Jerry Yates 6 – A tough evening for the willing youngster, whose weak hold-up play was exposed throughout the night.
Danny Ward 6 – Ward is in a bit of a slump at the moment and again had a disappointing evening where he failed to make a meaningful impact.
Richie Smallwood 6 – Came on and did what he does. Unclear why he didn’t start.
Dexter Blackstock 5 – On for the injured Ward and was not a disgrace.
Joe Mattock 4 – Entered as a sub to held keep it tight.
