Rotherham boss Paul Warne’s scouting trip could bear fruit

Paul Warne’s scouting mission last weekend could bear fruit, says Rotherham number two Richie Barker.

Warne went to Ireland and then the National League play-off final at Wembley to run the rule over a couple of strikers on his shopping list.

Warne was suitably impressed with what he saw and Barker hinted the Millers boss may have come away with more potential targets.

“Both of the visits weren’t wasted,” Barker told Millers Time. “No scouting trip is ever wasted because you either come away impressed or you decide to draw a line under it.

“That wasn’t the case, I think both trips were worthwhile and we gathered quite a lot of information, not only about the players we were watching but also a couple of others.

“They were constructive and Warney was impressed with what he saw with both of the players.”
