There will not be too many people excited by Rotherham’s first fixture announcement of next season.
With the new campaign just seven weeks away, the Carabao Cup first-round draw took place in Vietnam on Friday and paired the Millers with fellow Championship outfit Wigan.
Although the Millers were the first out of the hat in the Asian country, there was little excitement about the team that followed.
The two sides have been in the same division in three of the last four seasons and played each other as recently as April – they know each other well.

The game will be played at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the week commencing 13 August and will be their second home game of the new term.
It is the first year that the EFL decided to disband the seedings meaning it was an open regionalised draw.
There were 25 lower league teams they could have faced, yet were paired with a team in their own division.
The match will go straight to penalties if scores are level at 90 minutes, with the ABBA shootout format ditched.
The Millers will find out their league fixtures next Thursday, when they are released at 9am.
