Rotherham have fought off competition from some of the top Championship clubs for the signature of Chelsea forward Izzy Brown.
The 19-year-old England youth international has become the Millers’ 10th summer signing after penning a season-long loan from the Premier League giants.
The Millers have had their fair share of knocks in the transfer marker over the last few months, but their capture of Brown, who Jose Mourinho tipped for full England honours, represents a real coup.
“We’re delighted we’ve been allowed to take one of Chelsea’s rising talents,” boss Alan Stubbs said.
“I think there were at least half a dozen clubs who wanted him, including teams who are in the top six now in the division.
“We’re delighted we’ve been able to capture someone of Izzy’s ability.

“This is one of a few that we tried to get across the line. We missed out on one or two others. This is one of the exciting ones I was hoping would happen.
“It’s great from our point of view. It’s not one where he could have a fantastic six months and then go somewhere else.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing him on the grass and I know he’s really looking forward to coming here and showing people what he can do.
“He’s a really attacking player who brings pace and power, which is something I’ve wanted to add to the forward area.
“He’s the type of player who gets fans out of their seats. He’s very exciting.
“Chelsea see him as someone who can potentially play in their first team in the future.”
Brown has featured once for the Blues’ first team while spending last season on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
