What is Rotherham’s retained list likely to look like?

Rotherham may be basking in the glory of another Wembley win, but attention will soon turn to next season and who Paul Warne will want in his squad.

Warne’s squad management has been such that for the first time in recent memory there is not mass summer exodus on the cards.

The Millers have all of their key players under contract and those whose deals expired are unlikely to get new ones.

Here’s a look at who which first-teamers are out of contract this summer and whether they are likely to stay or go.

Shaun Cummings

The Jamaica international penned a one-year deal last August, arriving as cover for on-loan Josh Emmanuel. He found regular action before Christmas but featured only once since, finishing with 15 appearances.

Lewis Price

Price spent much of the season either out of the matchday squad or on the bench and managed only two appearances as Marek Rodak made the number one spot his own. He was hardly a regular in his first season either.

Jonson Clarke-Harris

Clarke-Harris’ Rotherham career was effectively ended in January when he headed out on loan to Coventry. The Millers do have an option of another year but it would be a major surprise if they were to exercise that.

Who else might go?

– Dominic Ball still has a year left on his contract, but given he spent most of the season on loan at Aberdeen, it is unlikely he will come into Paul Warne’s plans. If the club can command a fee for the 22-year-old then he is certain to be sold, if not they may agree to cancel his contract.

– Alex Bray’s contract also has a year left to run on it and given he spent the second half of the season on loan at Forest Green, it’s a safe bet to say he might not feature in Warne’s plans going forward.
