Rotherham have got their chequebook out to sign Falkirk midfielder Will Vaulks for an undisclosed six-figure fee.
The Millers saw off competition from Barnsley and Bristol City to bring the 22-year-old to New York Stadium for a reported cost of £300,000.
He has signed a three-year deal with the South Yorkshire club, who are waiting for Scottish Football League ratification to formally conclude the deal.
“We’re delighted that he has signed for us because there were a number of clubs after his signature,” boss Alan Stubbs said.
“We have been monitoring his situation but literally over the last 16 hours it has accelerated. We have acted very quickly and managed to get Will here. He has had the necessary medical and seen the doctors and I’m delighted that we’ve now concluded the deal.
“For me, he was Falkirk’s main player. The thing that impressed me was that he performed in the bigger games. He will be a loss to Falkirk and hopefully that will be Rotherham’s gain.”
