Rotherham boss Paul Warne is hoping to bring two loan players to the club in addition to the midfielder he is chasing as the January transfer window hots up.
Warne has already added Michael Smith to his squad, but with Lee Frecklington and Kieffer Moore departing the Millers chief wants three more players through his door.
One of those is a midfielder, which Warne has made a second bid for and hopes to get good news on that deal this week.

“It is pretty evident I need something in the middle of the pitch,” the Millers boss said. “I have bid on one and I have upped my bid again. I am really keen to get him to the club.
Another striker is tickling Warne’s fancy while a centre-half is on his radar, and maybe two if he decides to let Richard Wood join Chesterfield.
“At the moment, we are trying to get midfielders in and if I can get a striker with real pace, someone to play off the shoulder of defenders, I will try to.
“I am chasing hard on two loans, so that is where we are.”
Wood has been heavily linked with a move to the Proact Stadium, despite assuming the captaincy during Rotherham’s 1-1 draw at Oldham.
